Iedereen weet dat op 18 november New Moon in de Belgische bioscoopzalen komt en als echte Twilightfans sterven we natuurlijk van ongeduld om de sequel te zien. En wat is er nu leuker dan met een hele groep Twilightfans naar de bioscoop te trekken om New Moon te zien? Daarom organiseert TFB een echte New Moon-meeting!

There are a lot of things I should be doing updates on?for example, how awesome and successful the Book Babe event was, and how cool it was to meet all the other authors and hang out with them a little bit, and how much I appreciated all the tremendous support from the fans?but instead of commenting on happy things (which I admit I should have done a week ago; I was waiting for things to slow down for a day, silly me!), I'm commenting on ridiculous internet rumors so that my publicist's day will be just a little bit better.

I am not being sued. No one has contacted me or my publisher to inform either of us that I'm being sued. I never had a roommate named Heidi. There is no professor in the BYU English department named Dr. Peter Benton (though there is a character on ER by that name). And most of all, I began writing Twilight exactly the way I've told people in countless interviews and events for the past six years: I had a cool dream, I wrote it down, writing it down was really fun, so I kept writing until I had a whole book.

The sad thing about this silly situation is that so many legitimate news outlets reported it without doing any research at all to determine if there was any truth to the story. And at least two of these facts are really, really easy to confirm. Particularly, the one about the BYU professor. A simple on-line search can give you that information. Also, a quick call to my publisher would have cleared up the whole lawsuit story. (Kudos to the fansites who did their due diligence and debunked this rumor days ago.)

I guess the moral of the story is that?big surprise?you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Seems like it's April Fool's Day every day on-line. So no worries, the filming of New Moon continues uninterrupted. And, to end this on a bright note, the filming of New Moon continues to be awesome. It's all so beautiful! Chris Weitz is brilliant. Kristen, Rob, and Taylor are beyond words. I have gotten choked up more than once on set due to their amazing performances. I can't wait to see it all put together!

I know everyone is anxious to hear some updates on the movie. I've been too crazy busy to do a lot of blogging about it, and then I've also been afraid of spoiling anything for those who want to be surprised. So I'll just tell you a few short, non-spoiler stories and give you one new picture:

This is me with the humans?who don't get enough love?and director Catherine Hardwicke in the "Forks" high school cafeteria. I got to watch the filming of several key lunch scenes, and see how amazingly well the actors were portraying those human characters. Watching them be Mike and Eric and Jessica and Angela and Tyler made it feel strangely like it all might just be real?which was a crazy feeling. So the humans get two thumbs up from me. And Greg (Tyler) wants us all to know that Bella would definitely choose a guy with an awesome van over some vampire.

Funny story: on April first, I got to watch as they shot Bella's first scene in the hospital (after the above mentioned van careened into her) with Charlie (Billy Burke) and Carlisle (Peter Facinelli). Between takes, Peter came back to the monitors where I was hanging out with Nikki Reed (Rosalie), and producers Greg Mooradian and Gillian Bohrer. Nikki and I were talking about how Kellan Lutz (Emmett) kept eating during the Cullen's cafeteria scenes (Kellan is always hungry) and how the editors would have to cut around that. Greg asked the question many of you have asked: what happens to food eaten by a vampire? (He referenced the infamous bite of pizza Edward takes in the book.) I explained the icky truth?they eventually have to cough it back up. Peter was listening to all of this very quietly, and then he and I had the following conversation (I'm paraphrasing, because I don't have a vampire's perfect recall):

PETER: So vampires would never eat food, unless they are trying to fool humans? They would never eat at home?

ME: No, of course not.

PETER: Huh.

ME: Why do you ask?

PETER: Well...when we were filming one of the scenes in the Cullen house, Esme brought me a bowl of Raisin Bran. I was eating it through the whole scene. I don't think they could cut around it, because I was chewing through some of my lines... I guess that wouldn't make a ton of sense for Carlisle to do, though, would it?

ME: (slightly panicky) Er, no. It really wouldn't.

PETER: Oh, well.

ME:

PETER: And also, April Fool's.

(The part I can't convey here is how convincing he was. Peter is, after all, an excellent actor. He got Kristen/Bella at dinner, too, so I wasn't the only one.)

6 fun facts from the set:

1) While watching the playback from a very intense scene with Bella and Edward, the girl next to me literally slid right out of her chair?I think her bones melted. She also may have stopped breathing for a few seconds, too. I know I did.

2) Mike Welch can dance.

3) Hugging Kellan Lutz is the closest you can get to hugging a vampire; he is made of granite. (But please do not try to hug Kellan without his permission. Thank you.)

4) Portland is too cold. For anyone. But especially for Arizonans.

5) Jackson Rathbone can really play the guitar. Our taste in music is not exactly the same, but we found common ground with Radiohead's Creep, with which he then serenaded me.

6) As you might guess, I do a lot of internal swooning on the set. However, I have an excellent poker face.

To conclude, I would like to make a few comments about Rob and Kristen, who are the true heart of this movie. First, they are both amazing actors. Second, they are channeling Edward and Bella like nobody's business. Third, you might want to bring a paper bag to the movie, because their on-screen chemistry may cause hyperventilation. That is all.

men zegt altijd 'hoe meer zielen, hoe meer vreugd', dat geld ook hier. Hoe meer leden, hoe bekender we worden en hoe sneller we tot officiële fanclub benoemd kunnen worden.

Daarom zouden we jullie willen vragen om alle 'twilight'-fans die je kent over onze fanclub te vertellen.

Met meer leden kunnen we ook grotere meetings organiseren op verschillnde locaties. Zo wordt het ook voor jullie leuker en zelfs gemakkelijker.

Want ik kan me best voorstellen dat je niet altijd naar Gent kan komen als je in Antwerpen woont en niet altijd naar Antwerpen kan komen als je in Gent woont.

Het is altijd leuk als je eens met een leuke bende medefans en vaak ook streekgenoten op stap kan gaan.

Het is nog veel leuker om steeds meer nieuwe mensen te leren kennen.

Vandaar onze oproep.

wij vormen samen de TFB en als fanclub moeten we zorgen dat we een goede reputatie krijgen en die behouden.

Daarom gaan we T-shirts laten drukken met onze naam op. De eerste T-shirts zullen weggegeven worden in een wedstrijd. Daarna zullen we echter een klein prijsje moeten vragen voor wie nog een T-shirt wil. Natuurlijk kost het drukken van zo'n T-shirt ons ook geld en een klein beetje winst kunnen we altijd wel gebruiken.

Bijvoorbeeld: voor een meer gespecialiseerde, professionelere site, postzegels, envelopen,..

Dus hopelijk begrijpen jullie ook dat we dit moeten doen als we het echt willen maken.

We kunnen jullie wel al gerust stellen dat de kostprijs van de T-shirts niet erg veel meer zal bedragen dan de drukprijs ervan.
